Rhinestone Merch Care Guide
Your gear is made to shine, but a little extra love will keep it sparkling for the long haul. Follow these steps to protect your stones and keep your garment looking fresh.
⚠️ CRITICAL FIRST STEP: Remove Drawstrings
BEFORE WASHING: Always remove the rhinestone hoodie strings prior to washing. Do not submerge or machine wash the drawstrings—spot clean them by hand only if needed. Washing the strings can damage the stones, snag the fabric, or weaken the threading.
Garment Washing Instructions
Once your drawstrings are safely removed, follow these steps to wash the hoodie or garment:
Turn inside out: Flip your garment inside out to protect the rhinestones from friction during the wash cycle.
Cold water only: Wash on a gentle or delicate cycle using cold water and mild detergent.
No bleach or fabric softener: Avoid harsh chemicals or heavy softeners, as they can weaken the rhinestone adhesive over time.
Wash with like colors: Avoid washing with heavy items (like denim or zippers) that could catch on the stones.
Drying & Maintenance
Air dry is best: Lay the garment flat or hang to air dry. Heat from the dryer is the #1 enemy of rhinestone adhesive.
Never tumble dry: High dryer heat can loosen the stones and warp the fabric.
Do not iron directly: If you need to iron out wrinkles, iron on low heat from the inside out, or use a steamer—never place a hot iron directly on top of the rhinestones.
